scope of the project.
2. Graphic
Design
For
creatives, graphic design is another awesome freelance job that lets you
explore your creative side. You’ll get paid to design graphics for clients like
website owners, retailers, grocery stores, restaurants, and more.

Join
designer communities and apply on design job banks online to book design gigs.
You can also find some graphic design work on social media and classified
sites.
How Much
Do Designers Make?
Graphic
designers can earn hourly, per project, or some combination of both. According
to Ziprecruiter, the average annual salary for a designer (June 2019) is
$46,440. For a part-time design gig for extra money, you may expect to receive
about half of that.
The perks
of a freelance designer position is similar to that of a freelance copywriter
or any freelance position. You enjoy flexibility, you call the shots and be
your own boss, unlimited pay potential, tax benefits, and more.
Sales
Opportunities
Next, we
have these sales-driven jobs, which are great to start near or around Fall,
because you’ll have some time to ramp up in order to make extra money in time
for end of year shopping.
3. Sell on
Etsy
Etsy is a
huge marketplace for handmade items. If you’re crafty or make your own
products, create a store on Etsy. They receive tons of traffic every month and
you can potentially get a piece of it, drumming up sales to your Etsy store.
Here are
some ideas of products to sell:
·
Knits,
like blankets or scarves
·
Pottery,
like vases, coffee mugs, etc.
·
Artwork,
such as drawings, paintings, digital art
·
Digital
products like digital planners, printable checklists, digital calendars, etc.
If you
have the entrepreneurial spirit, give Etsy a try.
4. Start
an Instagram Shop
There are
tons of successful Instagram boutiques and you could be one of them!
Start by
picking a niche and decide on what you’ll be selling. Then, source your
inventory and map out a plan for distribution. Post products on your feed and
start selling!
Service
Gigs
This is
one of my favorite ways to make extra money, through services, because
literally anybody can do it and it has low or no startup cost. You’ll be
getting paid to do services for others. There’s a ton of flexibility in service
jobs and you will have full control. Take a look at these two examples.
5. Pet
sitting
Pet
sitting and/or pet care is great for animal lovers. You be doing things like
walking dogs, feeding and caring for animals, watching pets while owners are
away, etc.
You can do
this on your own, getting clients by posting flyers, advertising on Craigslist,
spreading word at your church, community centers, schools and other public
places, friends, and family.
You can
also work for one or both of these two pet companies, getting paid to walk
dogs:
·
Rover
·
Wag
How Much
Can You Make?
Around
$200-$300/month or so walking dogs only and much more if you extended your
services to pet care like pet sitting, etc.
This is a
fulfilling and fun way to earn more money.
6.
Repairing Electronics
This is a
good one, even if you don’t know how to do it! Let me explain.
First,
what I mean with electronics repair, is specifically fixing broken screens on
devices like iPads, iPhones, and other tablets and phones. Dropping a cell
phone or tablet is a common occurrence and nothing is worse than seeing the
screen cracked.
Cracked
screens should be repaired right away. They are harmful to the device and to
you! First, your fingers have oil, dust, debris and dirt on them and they can
get into the device through the cracks, harming it. Then, they are actually
pretty bad for your health causing splinters on fingers, eye strain, and more.
It’s very
in demand and you can learn to do it yourself watching tutorials on YouTube.
Clients
can be brought in from ads on Facebook marketplace and local community groups
on Nextdoor, Varage, and related sites.
How Much
Can You Make?
Charging a
flat fee of $50/screen is what I see a lot of repairmen charging so if you
repaired 5 devices per week, that would earn you $250/week, which is not a bad
side hustle to make extra money.
Work from
Home Jobs
Lastly,
these work from home jobs you will love because you can do them from the
comfort of home, your couch, really anywhere, as long as you have access to a
smartphone.
7. Survey
Taking
You can
reasonably earn a few hundred dollars per month, getting paid for your honest
opinion.
What’s
Involved?
for a survey site for free then, complete your profile and start taking
surveys. You will not earn a full-time income from this but for an easy gig for
extra money, it’s a great option. This will be a combination of websites and
apps.
How Much
Can You Make?
Surveys
can pay $.25 to $40 each, depending on the offer. If you choose to particulate
in focus groups or panels, you will find more high paying opportunities (but
more demanding, too) paying up to $500 each.
8. Low
Stress Customer Service Jobs
For a low
stress customer service job, these legitimate opportunities are from real
companies known to hire work from home positions and they might be right up
your alley.
